[12.08.27] Kim Dongwan makes his return to the small screen in KBS daily drama ‘Cheer Up, Mister Kim’

Shinhwa member Kim Dongwan has landed the leading role in upcoming KBS 1TV drama ‘Cheer Up, Mister Kim’.

‘Cheer Up, Mister Kim’ is set to follow ‘I’ll Give You the Stars and the Moon’, and is a family drama that brings warmth to the small screen by depicting family love and sweet romance. Kim Dongwan will play the titular character, 32-year-old Kim Tae-pyeong, who suddenly becomes the guardian of 4 kids each bearing a different surname, and is an expert in domestic help who is popular among housewives for his good looks and skilful hands. Kim Tae-pyeong has overcome his tough lot in life through perseverance and tenacity, and showsfamily love and warmth that goes beyond blood ties to the children who share a similar childhood to his own.

Kim Dongwan has established himself as an actor with his roles in the award-winning MBC special Liberation Day drama ‘The Peak’, and the box-office hit ‘Yeongasi (Deranged)’, and the fans have reacted excitedly to his new project.

Kim Dongwan said, “I’m a little nervous about the long commitment to a daily drama, but I have faith in producer Mun Bo-hyun who I’ve known since ‘Goodbye Sadness’, director Hong Seok-gu who’s known for his stylish directing, and writer Jo Jeong-joo who has received lots of love for ‘The Princess’ Man’. The cast members all have high hopes for the drama being different from the daily dramas so far, and are all doing more research work to better play our roles. We’ll work hard together with the great team of staff members, and please support and look forward to it.”

‘Cheer Up, Mister Kim’ is expected to start airing on KBS 1TV in early November.

  1. The drama sounds so good and the character really does seem to suit Dongwan ^^ Its great news for Shinhwa too because I’ve come to realise day drama’s are favoruites for native’s so Shinhwa gets alot of promotion through this ^^ can’t wait to see him with the kids! (this will be my first daily drama 😀 are they an hour long as well?)

  2. omg!!! the writer of princess freakin man? that’s the best drama last year for me!!! i hope nothing can go wrong. congrats dongwan-oppa~~ i’ll definitely anticipate this! ><

  3. can hardly wait.i hope indeed will happen.like shinhwa broadcast will end,i need to watch something else with the guys,a drama is great.^^

    1. i think so,i read somewhere that shinhwa boradcast will have only 30 episodes,so only 5 episodes left.it makes me really sad because it is the only thing that really makes me laugh now on this very stressful time in my life.

      1. I so wish they’re gonna consider to extend this show. I have so much good time watching it.

on a side note, though I love seeing him acting – I hope this daily drama won’t make him lack of rest (lol – most likely not)
