All eyes are on Shinhwa’s promotional activities as they prepare for their impending comeback.
Shinhwa is preparing to release their new album in mid-March and will unveil the first performance of their new song at their upcoming concert on 24/25 March. After the schedule for their program appearances has been fine-tuned, performance details on music shows will then be decided upon.
A rep for Shinhwa told Star News on 28 Feb, “The 6 members are coming back together after 4 years, and they are preparing for a variety of promotional activities. It will be very meaningful for them to stage the first performance at the concert, which will be held on the anniversary of their debut performance.”
“After the concert, they will be continuing with their comeback promotions via various music shows.”
Shinhwa’s first new song after 4 years will be unveiled at the Olympic Park Gymnastics Arena, one of Korea’s largest performance venues which can hold up to more than 10,000 people. This also happens to be the venue of Shinhwa’s last concert on 30 March 2008, before the members went for military service, making it all the more meaningful for the members.
The 6 Shinhwa members Eric, Lee Minwoo, Shin Hyesung, Kim Dongwan, Junjin and Andy, had proclaimed at that concert, “Shinhwa will go on for 20 years, 30 years, and we’ll be together even if we die.” They have fulfilled that promise after 4 years.
Following Shinhwa member Lee Minwoo’s discharge from military service on 2 March, Shinhwa’s comeback will go into full swing. Lee Minwoo is the only Shinhwa member still serving his military duty now, as the remaining members have all returned to civilian status.
Shinhwa debuted in 1998, making the group – comprising Eric, Kim Dongwan, Shin Hyesung, Lee Minwoo, Junjin and Andy – the longest-running idol group in Korea.
